When you open the Bible and read, you are reading the message given to us by God through the Holy Spirit living in men thousands of years ago, written on scroll. Nothing more. If you can’t believe this fact, then your claim to believe in God is false, and any efforts to do good work or proclaim your faith in Christ is in vain, empty, useless, and will lead you to hell. Believing 100% the Bible is God breathed is where your journey in faith in Christ Jesus begins, and your personal belief God is perfect.
The mistake we make as human beings is we focus solely on the written text and not on God’s message. Humans with their multi-highlighters, commentary books, opinion articles, and sweeping note-taking performs surgeries on God’s Word, getting lost in a web of denotation, and loosing the substance of God’s message. How did earlier generations thousands years ago read and understand the bible without all the supplementary commentaries, tools and technologies we have today?
Why do you choose to read and place your trust in man-made theologies, philosohpies, opinions, and religions when God has already given us the Truth? Think. As human beings we seek words that deliver a truth that comforts and appeases our feelings. Danger! This is how Satan and his army ensnares it’s victims in today’s cultures that are anti-God. Seek the facts from God’s Truth and not your personal feelings for self-preservation. Is the Bible alone not enough for you to meet your God?
Before you read any part of the Bible’s 66 books, pray! to God, and ask Him to give you discernment (and patience) before you read any bible verses. Ask God for wisdom when you are reading His Word. God will help you understand His message if you allow Him into your heart and listen.
The Bible has an answer to every question you can comprehend. Ask God to guide you, but you must make the first move to open the Bible. Start in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 1, verse 1. Read out loud slowly. Stop when you do not understand and pray for help.
God’s message is pure and perfect. Amen.
